Start with the width
Width decides what fits. Length is flexible, and height gets set by what you're parking inside. Here's how the common widths shake out.
The smallest practical footprint. Fits one vehicle plus a walkway, or a boat on a trailer.
The most requested width in the Richmond area. Two vehicles side by side with room to open doors.
Enough depth for a workbench along the back wall with vehicles still parked inside.
Clear-span framing at this width gives you a wide open interior with no center posts.
Engineered framing for shops, warehouses and anything needing truck access inside.
Length
Built in roughly 5-foot increments. 21, 26, 31, 36 feet and up, with no practical maximum.
Height
Leg heights from 6 to 16 feet. Measure your tallest vehicle and add two feet of clearance.
Roof style
Regular, A-frame horizontal, or vertical. Vertical sheds rain and snow best and is what we recommend for anything over 31 feet long.
